Who do ya love?
Life is busy. Schedules just happen without our consent. Things can quickly get out of control. Some of us are like the car running downhill without any brakes. We can so enjoy the exhiliaration of it all that we forget what is most important. Revelation 2:4 says: But I have this against you that you have left your first love. The verses before this one describe a church that has endured, perservered, tested false prophets, and have not grown weary. This church has been obedient and loyal, but it left its first love. How can that happen? I don't know it how it happened in the church of Ephesus, but I know how it happens in my life. It happens every time I just coast through life and never stop. STOP! God tells me to stop. Becaus he knows that somewhere down the road of life I left my first love behind.
All of our relationships in life require us to stop and pay attention to the ones we love. We have to stop in order to create and nurture that bond that holds us together. We are willing to stop to love our families and friends. Are we willing to stop to love the only one who can love us more than any other person or thing in this life?
Take the time to fall in love with Jesus again. Just STOP!
