Humiliation
Romans 12:3 NASB
For though the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
There is a relationship between humility and humiliation. Humility can prevent humiliation. Anyone who doesn't think with humility will one day be humiliated when they realize they weren't all they thought they were.

Thanks for bringing this subject up, Ben. I don't think the teaching of humility, or telling people it is a Christian Virtue is something that happens very often. For centuries the Church has told people that Pride is a destructive part of life, but these days it seems to be rampant.
