Ancient Date Palm

It seems that MSNBC is reporting that a date palm is being grown from a 2000 year old seed in Israel. Israeli researchers have germinated a sapling date palm from seeds 2,000 years old, hoping its ancient DNA could reveal medicinal qualities to benefit future generations, one of the scientists leading the project said Sunday.

I think that that is pretty interesting! And, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of this.

What if the dates taste like they're 2000 years old?
